Coolly lubricant disinfection English
Cooling lubricant hygiene for more productivity an
In the metal-working industry nothing would work without cooling lubricants: The chip-removing production turns, mills, drills, and grinds metal millionfold every day. At temperatures of more than 1,000°C, cooling lubricants allow higher machining speeds. They spare tools and workpieces.
However, these agents have a high price: They are expensive in purchase, care, and disposal and can harm the environment as well as the employees.
The solution: Test results of the IRD Aquatransform cooling lubricant
Your benefits:
Efficient: Kills present bacteria, algae, and other microorganisms in the cooling lubricant
Prophylactic: Eliminates biofilm and prevent its new development
Safe: Withouth admixture of chemicals or biocides
Flexible: Mobile - to be used at several cooling lubricant tanks
Easy: Easy use and application
Your advantages:
Cost-saving: Due to maximum longevity of the cooling lubricant (infrequent exchange)
Cost-saving: Thus, lower costs resulting from machine downtimes
Cost-saving: Sick leave due to cooling lubricant (continuation of payments)
Cost-saving: Due to lower disposal costs
Short amortization time: Due to high savings and a good price-performance ratio
Positive for the health: Better safety at work due to less pathogenic germs and bacteria
Positive for the environment: Significant reduction of the disposal intervals, no biocides
High quality: Patented and verified disinfection method
Economical: Due to lower operational costs of the cooling lubricant IRD Aquatransform
Application / test results
The cooling lubricant IRD Aquatransform can be used in almost all areas of cooling water disinfection. Due to its long-lasting effect, the cooling lubricant IRD Aquatransform even disinfects tanks as well as large water systems, which are susceptible to germs because of the long exposure time of the cooling water.
The coordination of the cooling lubricant IRD Aquatransform depends on the according application, on the water quality, as well as on the operational conditions. All standards and guidelines can be kept by accordingly setting the parameters via the control.

How was the cooling lubricant IRD Aquatransform?
How was the cooling lubricant IRD Aquatransform developed?
The Innoself company has been known to the market as manufacturer of lubricants and greases for more than 10 years. During that time, we often met the problems of bacteria in the cooling lubricant. The exchange did not only mean costs for the new cooling lubricant and for the disposal of the used lubricant. In addition, it also caused expensive machine downtimes. The safety at work deserves at least the same attention as the high and cost-intensive numbers of staff away sick. In these years, we always collaborated with the Core Transfer Institute in order to find improved problem solutions for our customers. We were able to realize our findings in the cooling lubricant area thanks to the development work together with the Newtec company.
The solution / IRD Aquatransform – KSS
The mobile unit IRD Aquatransform-KSS kills present bacteria, algae, and other harmful microorganisms in the cooling lubricant - without chemicals or radiation. And even the biofilm is, thus, eliminated subsequently. This unit is mobile to allow you the treatment of several cooling lubricant tanks. The highly intelligent control / monitoring allows an easy and relatively quick operation and procedure.
General information regarding the problem
The Southern German Metal Professional Organization found out that approx. 44% of the skin diseases reported related to cooling lubricants. Cooling lubricants and the included bacteria can enter the skin through microcracks, which may occur when dealing with machined metals. Such extremely harmful mixtures mean a significant problem for the human organism and leads to certain diseases. In Germany, approx. four million employees are exposed to cooling lubricants. This causes costs of several millions of euros per year for the German industry.
Machine downtimes
Cooling lubricants have been used for more than 80 years already. Besides pure oils, emulsions are used. Depending on the mixing ratio, they consist of up to 94% water, up to 5% oil, and up to 0.5-1% admixtures offering an additional effect thanks to their chemical features, i.e. rust protection, a higher lubricating effect under extreme conditions, prevention of foam formation, or retardation of the growth of bacteria, yeasts, and fungi in the emulsion. However, in most of the cases, these admixtures do not offer a real protection against bacteria, yeasts, and fungi. The result of this is that cooling lubricant emulsions / dissolutions have to be exchanged 2-3 times per year in general. In 2001, about one million tons of emulsions (mixture) were used up in Germany. Approx. 700,000 tons of cooling lubricant emulsions are disposed every year. If the number of germs increases too much, the dissolution might “perish” making its disposal absolutely necessary. This results in significant costs for the user of the machine. Exchanging the emulsion or dissolution means a machine downtime of several hours, which results in a significant loss of proceeds. One hour of machine downtime may cause up to 4,000 € of costs or loss of proceeds depending on the capacity utilization or quality of the production. In addition, machine downtimes may cause a delay in the customer’s deadline.
